Maintenance Technician

Location: Carlstadt, NJ

            I.     Accountability Objectives:   

The Maintenance Technicians will perform hands-on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of mechanical systems daily. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines.

 

          II.     Specific Accountabilities: 

  • 2-5 years’ work experience with industrial maintenance preferably food manufacturing
  • Sustain and Improve Preventative Maintenance Program on all processing equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Restore, maintain and upgrade processing line equipment
  • Control machine downtime by performing routine maintenance
  • Install and troubleshoot PLCs and drives
  • Diagnosing system controls and software issues
  • Install facility lighting, wiring, machinery motors, electrical panels, breakers, airlines, water lines, or gas lines as needed
  • Identifying and correcting root cause of repetitive failures
  • Ensure equipment is in safe and good working conditions
  • Maintain working knowledge of food safety and quality of all products while performing maintenance
  • Works closely with other departments and create an environment of one team
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

 

        III.     Qualifications:   

  • Min 2 years’ experience in a maintenance department
  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation principles, policies, and practices
  • Thorough working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controller), pneumatic operated systems, schematics, one phase, two phases motors, all aspects of conveyor feeding and packaging
  • Able to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Able to perform predictive and preventative maintenance
  • Able to tolerate working in a cold, wet, and humid environment
  • Able to follow all safety, attendance, GMP, and HR policies
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience using computer based reactionary/ preventive /predictive maintenance software systems
  • Experience in the food industry is strongly preferred
  • Effectively communication, both orally and written
